Important instructions for use and cleaning
Cast iron cookware is suitable for cooking on any type of stove, indoors or outdoors, except microwave ovens. New cookware should be rinsed and dried thoroughly before initial use. Rosberg cast iron cookware is pre-greased so you can start cooking right away.
- Use any utensils, even metal ones. The dishes have no chemical coatings to damage
- Always lift dishes from hotplates with smooth surfaces. Sliding them can scratch the surface of the hotplates
- Handles can become hot, so use appropriate hand protection
- Cast iron cookware works well when heated and cooled gradually. Allow the dishes to heat up for a few minutes
- Cast iron cookware retains heat extremely well, so cook on a lower heat to avoid burning the food
Cleaning
1. Wash dishes by hand using a nylon brush. If necessary, use a pan spatula to remove stuck-on bits of food
2. For severely burnt food, boil water for 1 minute in the dish, then clean with a spatula after cooling
3. Dry thoroughly immediately after washing with kitchen paper or a lint-free cloth
4. Apply a thin layer of cooking oil or a special spray for treating cast iron dishes. It is recommended to do it while the dishes are still warm
5. Hang or store containers in a dry place. From time to time you may notice dark spots on the cloth you use to wipe the dishes. This does not affect the safe use of the cookware - it is a consequence of the reaction of the grease with which the cookware is treated with slightly acidic or alkaline foods. This will disappear after several uses and cleaning of the dishes. No soap or dish soap needed. If you still want, you can use a little dishwashing liquid.
